Dodhi or Golden Turmeric Milk


Ingredients

1 Cup of Milk (soy, almond, cow)
1 Teaspoon Coconut oil or ghee
1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric
1/2 Teaspoon Desiccated Coconut/Ground Almonds/Cinnamon

Add Stevia if a sweeter taste is required

Method

Traditionally in Asia this milk is made for the new mother for 40 days after giving birth, to aid the healing process. But turmeric is also a cure for IBS and other stomach problems and has recently been hailed by many as a miracle cure for cancer due to it’s anti inflammatory and anti septic properties.

Heat the oil or ghee in a heavy bottomed saucepan and add the turmeric until it sizzles (should only take 5/10 seconds) then add the milk to boiling point.

Add any of the last ingredients for the last minute of boiling (my kids love the coconut) or enjoy as it comes!
